1. WHO launched interactive coronavirus service

WHO has launched an interactive experience on Facebook Messenger to provide people with accurate and timely information about the coronavirus pandemic.
WHO will leverage Messenger's reach to more than 1.3 billion monthly active users who will now be able to ask questions and get quick answers from the WHO's "Health Alert" interactive service on Messenger. This service is free to use.






2. YES Bank extended bancassurance tie-up

Yes, Bank has extended the bancassurance partnership with Max Life Insurance for the next 5 years.
Under the partnership, the products of the Max life would be sold through the branches of Yes Bank.
To commemorate the extension of the partnership for another 5 years, the companies will dedicate the current financial year as the year of the Customer.






3. Birupaksha Mishra: Exec Director of Union Bank

Birupaksha Mishra has assumed charge as the Executive Director of Union Bank of India.
Prior to this, Birupaksha Mishra was appointed as the Executive Director career as a Probationary Officer in the year 1984 and has a dense experience of more than 35 years in various administrative and functional capacities.



4. Google Pay launched Nearby Spot

Google pay launched nearby spot under Google pay using which users in Bengaluru can see local stores selling essentials like groceries that are open amid the lockdown.

The Nearby spot will be launched in Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, and Delhi soon.
The company has launched the COVID-19 Spot on Google pay that aggregates all pertinent information on the topic.






5.. Former Pro Golfer Doug Sanders passed away

Former pro golfer Doung Sanders passed away in April 2020.
He was known as the Peacock of the Fairways for his Easter egg collection of colours he wrote on the golf course.

6. India will register positive growth rate: IMF

Internation Monetary Fund has said India and China are the only two major countries, which will register a positive growth rate despite Coronavirus pandemic.
In its latest edition of World Economy report, IMF has projected India's GDP growth to be 1.9% in 2020.
For China, it has projected a growth rate of 1.2%.
India is expected to grow at 7.4 %





7. US approved the sale of an anti-ship missile to India

The Trump administration will sell Harpooon air-launched anti ship missiles and Mark 54 lightweight torpedoes worth 155 us million dollars to India.
It will enhance its deterrent capabilities against regional threats and bolster homeland defence.
The harpoon missile system will be integrated into the P-8I anti-submarine warfare aircraft to conduct anti-surface warfare missions.





8.  COVID-19 vaccine at least for 12 months:- WHO

We should not be expecting to see a vaccine against the COVID-19 at least for 12 months or longer" WHO spokesperson Dr Margaret Harris said on Wednesday. The overall world outbreak, 90% of cases are coming from Europe and the US. So we are certainly no seeing the peak yet" Dr Harris added.




9. People may need to practice social distancing until 2022 without vaccine:- Harvard

People may need to practice social distancing till 2022 absence of COVID-19 vaccine or other potential interventions, Harvard Scientists said, A researcher said even if social-distancing helps in flattening the curve, many people still remain susceptible to the virus.






10. 170 districts declared as coronavirus hotspots, 207 non-hotsposts so far:- GOV

Health ministry today said the districts are being classified into coronavirus hotspots, non-hotspots are green zone districts. It added that 170 districts have been declared as hotspots. Further 207 districts have been declared as non-hotspots, where the government wants to implement cluster containment plan as the could turn into potential hotspots. Green Zone districts are those with no case.
