1.World Voice Day

WVD is a global annual event held on 16 April dedicated to the phenomenon of voice celebration. The aim is to show the enormous value of the voice in people's daily lives. The idea to dedicate a special day, annually on 16 April to the voice was first launched in the year 1999 by the society of Laryngology and voice in Brazil.




2. Aarogya Setu: World's highest downloaded app

Aarogya Setu app has reached 50 million downloads just 13 days, making it the world's fasted downloaded app. This was announced by NITI Aayao CEO Amitabh Kant. The app tracks
 COVID-19 cases around and help in fighting the virus on an individual level.
The app has been developed by the National informatics Center.





3. Putin President for two more terms. 

 6-Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law on constitutional changes that gives him the power to run for President for two more terms. 




4. IITF world rankings 2020

Achanta Sharath Kamal surpassed compatriot Gnanasekaran Sathiyan to become the highest-ranked Indian men table tennis player.
He grabbled 31st position in the latest senior men's rankings releases by International Table Tenni's Federation (IITF).
Sharath has taken a leap of seven spots to claim the 31st position.
Meanwhile, in the senior women's rankings, Manika Batra is at the 63rd spot.




5. NASA discovered hidden Earth-like Planet

Astronomers have found scientists discovered this exoplanet while they were scanning through old observations date from NASA's Kepler space telescope, which the space agency retired in 2018.
The planet called Kepler-1649c, located 300 light-years from earth, is most similar to earth in size and estimated temperature.




6. India's GDP growth may fall to 1.1% in FY21

India's GDP growth may fall to 1.1% in FY21 owing to coronavirus crises, as per a report.
The nominal GDP for FY21 could be around 4.2% as there is a possibility of subsidies outstripping tax collection, the SBI Ecowrap report said.
Similarly, the rate of growth in FY20 is expected to fall to 4.1 % from 5% estimated by several agencies before the COVID-19 outbreak.




7.India World's most digitally dexterous nation

The Gartner 2019 Digital workplace Survey founded that India is the most digitally dexterous country in the world.
It is followed by the U.K and the US.
India has the largest Gen Z workforce along with the desire to learn new skills using digital technologies in the workplace.
27% of the digital workes in India are skilled experts in digital technology for work purposes.


8. Facebook Donate for COVID-19

Facebook has committed $ 20 million in donations in the global fight against coronavirus, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced. 





9. YES BANK

The government has added new members to Yes Bank's board including Sunil Mehta as the non-executive chairman and Mahesh Krishnamurthy and Atul Bheda as non-executive directors.



10. New pit viper discovered in Arunachal Pradesh

A group of researchers have recorded a new serpent and named it Slazar's pit viper.
The new species trimeresurus Salazar is the fifth variety of reptile to have been discovered in Arunachal Pradesh in a little more than a year.
The name was inspired by Salazar Slytherin, the co-founder of J.K. Rowings fictional Hogwarts school of witchcraft and Wizardry.
